The Heroic Fire Department of La Paz shares key measures to prevent accidents during the holiday season, focusing on safety at beaches, campsites, and homes.
La Paz, Baja California Sur (BCS). With the start of the Easter holiday season, the Heroic Fire Department of La Paz has issued a series of recommendations to ensure the safety of residents and tourists who will enjoy the municipality's beaches and recreational areas. Commander Juan Jesús Ruíz Redona emphasized the importance of these preventive measures to avoid risky situations during this period.
Safety on beaches and campsites
For those planning to visit the beaches of La Paz, it is recommended to pay special attention to minors and have a first aid kit. Campers are also urged to be extremely careful around campfires, ensuring they are completely extinguished with water or earth until they stop smoking, in order to prevent forest fires.
Precautions at home
Those who will be leaving the city during the holidays should take steps to secure their homes. It's advisable to check that electrical installations are in good condition, turn off gas valves, avoid leaving candles lit, and unplug appliances such as irons and cell phone or computer chargers.
Safe Holy Week Operation
Ruíz Redona reported that, as part of the "Safe Holy Week" operation, the Heroic Fire Department of La Paz will work in coordination with other security and rescue agencies from all three levels of government. 24-hour security guards will be on duty to address any emergencies that may arise during this holiday period.
These actions seek to foster a culture of prevention and ensure that the holidays go smoothly. Citizens are urged to follow these recommendations and report any risky situations to the emergency number 911.
