The test, which will be administered in coordination with international educational organizations, will measure skills in reading, mathematics, and science, following global standards.

With the goal of strengthening educational quality in Baja California Sur , the state's Public Education Secretariat announced the participation of more than 15,000 secondary and high school students in an international competency assessment.
The test, which will be administered in coordination with international educational organizations, will measure skills in reading, mathematics, and science, following global standards. The purpose is to obtain an accurate assessment of the academic level of Southern California students and identify areas of opportunity for the design of more effective educational policies.
State authorities indicated that this will be the first time Baja California Sur has participated comprehensively in this type of evaluation, which will allow for national and international comparisons of results. The selected schools represent both urban and rural areas, ensuring a representative sample of the entire state.
The test will assess not only theoretical knowledge but also practical skills, such as problem-solving, critical thinking, and the application of knowledge in real-life situations.
Principals and teachers at participating schools are already receiving training to support students in this process, which will take place between May and July of this year.
The SEP BCS emphasized that the results will be essential for updating curricular content, training teaching staff, and guiding students in their preparation for the challenges of an increasingly globalized and competitive world.
