During Holy Week 2025 , the State Attorney General's Office (PGJE) of Baja California Sur implemented a special security and surveillance operation that resulted in a clean record in the state's main tourist destinations.
More than 1,200 members of the PGJE ( General Directorate of Public Prosecutors ), in coordination with municipal, state, and federal forces, were deployed to beaches, highways, downtown areas, and mass events in Los Cabos , La Paz , Loreto , Comondú , and Mulegé . The actions included vehicle checkpoints, constant patrols, information modules, and immediate response to any emergency reports.
The head of the PGJE emphasized that citizen collaboration was key to maintaining peace and order during this period of high tourist influx. No high-impact incidents or acts of violence were reported, apart from minor medical attention or traffic incidents without serious consequences.
In addition, prevention efforts focused on gender-based violence, child protection, and combating substance abuse were carried out, reinforcing the comprehensive security strategy for the benefit of both residents and visitors.
State authorities thanked citizens for their participation and reiterated their commitment to maintaining these operations during future vacation periods, festivities, and large-scale events, as part of a policy of safe tourism and community well-being.
